Band 6
I would like to talk about my friend Ioana, who is very good at基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 learning languages. We met at university in Cluj, in Romania, four years ago, and now we is主詞動詞不一致:應為「are」 in the same group. She can speak five languages: Romanian, French, English, German and a little Spanish, but her Spanish is still, er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, quite basic. She started French with her grandmother when she was a child, and she began English and German at school. Now she learns new things in some different ways. First, she watches films without subtitles, and when she hears a new word she write主詞動詞不一致:應為「writes」 it in a small notebook. She reads this notebook on the bus every morning. Second, she speaks to tourists in the old town, because she is not afraid of make mistakes動詞形式錯誤:應為「is not afraid of making mistakes」. Third, once a week she has a video call with a language partner in Madrid, and they talk about many things模糊的說法;「all sorts of topics」更精準. Last year she go時態錯誤:應為「went」 to Spain for a short course, and her Spanish became much better. She also reads a short article in Spanish every evening before she goes to sleep. Our classmates often ask her for help before exams, and she always explains patiently. I feel she is a really great基本形容詞,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 person and I admire her a lot. Sometimes I feel a little jealous, because I study時態錯誤:應為「have been studying」 English for ten years and I still don’t speak so easily. But she also gives me advice, so I want to practise more.
Band 7
I’d like to talk about my friend Ioana, who has a real talent for learning languages. We met at university in Cluj, in Romania, four years ago, and we’re now in the same group. She can speak five languages: Romanian, French, English, German and a little Spanish, although her Spanish is still quite basic. She started French with her grandmother as a child, and she began English and German at school. She has several methods for learning new things. First, she watches films without subtitles, and whenever she hears a new word she writes it down in a small notebook, which she reads on the bus every morning. Second, she speaks to tourists in the old town, because she isn’t afraid of to make動詞形式錯誤:應為「making」 mistakes. Third, once a week she has a video call with a language partner in Madrid, and they talk about all sorts of topics自然而有彈性的說法. Last year she took a short course in Spain, and her Spanish improved noticeably用精準的副詞取代「became much better」. She also reads a short article in Spanish every evening before she goes to sleep. Our classmates often ask her for help before exams, and she always explains patiently. I admire her enormously, but I’m also a little envious, because I’ve been studying English for ten years and I still can’t speak as fluently as she does準確使用「as … as」的比較結構. She’s generous with advice, so she motivate主詞動詞不一致:應為「motivates」 me to practise more.
Band 8
I’d like to talk about my friend Ioana, who has a real flair for languages. We met at university in Cluj, in Romania, four years ago, and we’re now in the same group. She speaks five languages: Romanian, French, English, German and a little Spanish, although her Spanish is still at an early stage. She started French with her grandmother as a child, and she began English and German at school. She goes about learning new things in several ways. For a start, she watches films without subtitles, and whenever she hears a new word she jots it down in a small notebook, which she reads on the bus every morning. She also strikes up conversations with tourists慣用的動詞片語 in the old town, since she isn’t afraid of making mistakes. Once a week she has a video call with a language partner in Madrid, and they talk about everything under the sun自然使用的慣用語. Last year she took a short course in Spain, and her Spanish improved noticeably. She also reads a short article in Spanish every evening before she goes to sleep. Our classmates often ask her for help before exams, and she always explains patiently. I admire her enormously, though, if I’m honest, I’m also slightly envious, because I’ve been studying English for ten years and still can’t speak as fluently as she does. She’s generous with advice, too, and the more I watch her, the more I want to practise準確使用「the more …, the more …」的結構, so, on balance, she’s a source of motivation rather than discouragement.
- Band 6的錯誤(「we is」、「she write」、「she go」、「I study English for ten years」)在Band 7已經改正(「we’re」、「she writes」、「she took」、「I’ve been studying」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
- Band 6用的是「very good at」和「many things」;Band 7改用「a real talent」和「all sorts of topics」;Band 8說「a real flair」和「everything under the sun」。
- Band 7仍然出現一次失誤,說成「she motivate me」,Band 8則以「the more I watch her, the more I want to practise」收尾,並加上平衡的評語「a source of motivation rather than discouragement」。
- Why do some people seem to pick up languages more easily than others?
- At what age do you think children should begin learning a foreign language?
- Is it still worth learning other languages when translation tools are so widely available?
- What are the advantages of being able to speak several languages at work?
- Do you think a country benefits when many of its people are multilingual?
如果不確定確切的數量,可以說「at least four」或「five, if you count her basic Spanish」,然後繼續講下去。
像「as far as I can tell」或「from what I have noticed」這樣的說法,讓你能誠實描述他們的習慣,而不必編造什麼祕訣。
