Band 6
I’d like to describe an acoustic guitar that I saved money to buy two years ago. I live in Lagos, and I am wanting動詞形式錯誤:應為「had wanted」或「wanted」 a guitar since I was fifteen, because my uncle played one every Sunday after church and I loved the sound. My family could not buy it for me, so I decided to save by myself. It take時態錯誤:應為「took」 me about nine months. I worked on Saturdays in my cousin’s phone shop, and I also stop時態錯誤:應為「stopped」 buying snacks after class, which was, er思考下一個想法時使用的填充詞, quite hard because my friends always went to the cafe. Every month I put the money in a small tin box under my bed and I counted it again and again. In the sixth month my phone break時態錯誤:應為「broke」 and I almost use動詞形式錯誤:應為「used」 the money to fix it, but my uncle said I must wait. I wanted the guitar because music helps me relax after a long day, and also I wanted to play songs with the group from my church. When I finally had enough money, I went to a music shop near my university with my uncle, and he helped me choose a good基本形容詞,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 one. I felt very, very happy重複使用基本的程度副詞,而不是精準的字 when I carried it home. I didn’t slept動詞形式錯誤:應為「didn’t sleep」 much that night because I play時態錯誤:應為「played」 until my mother told me to stop. I think saving for it was a good experience說法含糊,限制了Lexical Resource的分數, because now I take care it漏掉介系詞:應為「take care of it」 very carefully. Now I play it at church on Sundays, next to my uncle, and I am very proud when people listen.
Band 7
I’d like to describe an acoustic guitar that I saved up for two years ago. I live in Lagos, and I’d wanted a guitar ever since I was fifteen, because my uncle played one every Sunday after church and I loved the sound. My family couldn’t afford to buy it for me, so I decided to put money aside描述存錢的自然詞語搭配 myself, and it took me about nine months. I worked on Saturdays in my cousin’s phone shop, and I gave up buying snacks after class, which was harder than I expected because my friends always went to the cafe比較級搭配原因子句,用法準確. Every month I’d drop what I’d earned into a small tin box under my bed and count it again and again. In the sixth month my phone broke and I was tempted to spend the money on a new screen, but my uncle told me to hold on, so I did. I wanted the guitar because music helps me unwind after a long day, and I hoped to play along with the group from my church. When I finally had enough, I went to a music shop near my university with my uncle, who helped me pick out a really nice one安全但籠統的形容詞;用更精準的字會提升多樣性. I felt incredibly proud更強烈、更精準的情感用字 carrying it home. I hardly slept that night because I kept playing until my mother told to me詞序錯誤:應為「told me」 to stop. Looking back, saving for it made me appreciate it more than if someone had simply handed it to me帶有反思的子句,把付出的努力和心情連起來, and I look after it very carefully, so it’s still in a perfect condition冠詞錯誤:「in perfect condition」前面不加冠詞. Now I play it at church on Sundays, right next to my uncle.
Band 8
I’d like to describe an acoustic guitar that I saved up for two years ago. I live in Lagos, and I’d had my heart set on one ever since I was fifteen, when my uncle started playing his every Sunday after church. My family couldn’t afford to buy it for me, so I decided to put the money aside myself, and it took me about nine months. I worked on Saturdays in my cousin’s phone shop and went without snacks after class, which was harder than I’d expected, given that my friends were always at the cafe比較級搭配原因子句,掌控得宜而自然. Every month I’d drop what I’d earned into a small tin box under my bed and count it again, as if it might have multiplied overnight. In the sixth month my phone broke and I was sorely tempted精準的詞語搭配,表現內心真實的掙扎 to spend the money on a new screen, but my uncle urged me to hold on, and I’m glad I did. I wanted the guitar because music helps me unwind after a long day, and I hoped to play along with the group from my church. When I finally had enough, I went to a music shop near my university with my uncle, who helped me pick out one with a warm, full sound用具體的描述取代籠統的形容詞. I was over the moon表達極度開心的慣用說法 carrying it home. I hardly slept that night because I kept playing until my mother had to come in and ask me to stop自然的敘事說法,時態正確. Looking back, what I value most is not the guitar itself but the months it represents分裂句給出清楚的最後重點, which is probably why I still treat it with such care. Now I play it at church on Sundays, right next to my uncle, and being listened to feels like a reward I earned簡潔自然的說法,呼應了努力這個主題.
- Band 6的時態失誤(「It take me」、「I also stop」、「I play until」)在Band 7變成正確的過去式(「it took me」、「I gave up」、「I kept playing」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
- Band 6用「very, very happy」和「a good experience」;Band 7用「incredibly proud」;Band 8加上慣用語「over the moon」,並以「the months it represents」作對比的結尾。
- Band 6只把吉他形容為「a good one」;Band 8說「one with a warm, full sound」,讓考官清楚看到考生想要的是什麼。
- Why do some people find it hard to save money?
- Should schools teach young people how to manage their money?
- Is it better to save up for something or to buy it now and pay later?
- How has online shopping changed the way people decide what to buy?
- Do you think people value things less today because they are so easy to get?
題卡寫的是「something you saved money to buy」,所以這樣東西應該對你有意義。
