Band 6

I would like to talk about a wristwatch my grandfather give to me時態錯誤:應為「gave me」, which was actually his own watch that he wear時態錯誤:應為「wore」 for most of his adult life. He gave it to me on my eighteenth birthday, which was, er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, quite a big occasion, but what made it special is he didn’t just give it to me casually — he sit down with me before and explain時態錯誤:應為「sat down」和「explained」 where he bought it, many years ago, and some stories I never heard before, even though I know him my whole life. It is not a very expensive基本形容詞,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 watch, and if I am honest, it doesn’t keep perfect time anymore, but the sentimental value is more important than that for me. What make it special to me is not really the object but the fact it come with主詞動詞不一致:應為「it comes with」 those stories, it feels less like receiving a thing and more like, you know當作停頓使用的填充詞, being given a small piece of family history that I must keep now. I don’t wear it every day, mainly because I am scare形容詞形式錯誤:應為「I am scared」 to damage it, but I wear it on occasions that feel important, which I think is my way to treat it like treasure and not just use it casually.

Band 7

I’d like to talk about a wristwatch my grandfather gave me, which was actually his own watch that he’d worn在關係子句中正確使用過去完成式 for most of his adult life. He gave it to me on my eighteenth birthday, which felt like a fairly significant occasion in itself, but what made it stand out was that he didn’t just hand it over casually — he sat down with me beforehand轉折用語,讓句子的組織很自然 and explained where he’d bought it, decades earlier, along with a few stories I’d genuinely never heard, despite — well, despite having known him my entire life句子中途自然地自我修正. It’s not an especially expensive watch, and if I’m honest, it doesn’t even keep perfect time anymore, but the sentimental value completely outweighs精準的動詞選擇 that. What makes it special to me isn’t really the object itself but the fact that it came with those stories attached; it feels less like receiving a possession and more like being handed a small piece of family history I’m now responsible of keeping介系詞錯誤:應為「responsible for」. I don’t wear it every day, mainly out of fear of damaging it, but I do wear it on occasions that feel significant, which I suppose is my own way of treasuring it rather than using it casually自然、精準的改寫.

Band 8

I’d like to talk about a wristwatch my grandfather gave me — actually his own watch, which he’d worn同位語加過去完成式,使用自然 for most of his adult life. He presented it to me on my eighteenth birthday, a significant occasion, but what made it stand out was that he didn’t simply hand it over; he sat me down beforehand and explained where he’d bought it, decades earlier, along with several stories I’d never heard, despite knowing him my entire life. It’s by no means an expensive watch, and, if anything, it no longer even keeps perfect time, yet複雜的對比結構 its sentimental value far outweighs any of that. What makes it special isn’t really the object itself but the fact that it arrived with those stories attached; it feels less like inheriting a possession and more like being entrusted with a small fragment of family history道地、精準的說法. I rarely wear it day to day, out of fear of damaging it, but I do bring it out on occasions that feel meaningful, which I suppose is my own way of treasuring rather than merely using it精準、自然的改寫. Looking back, what struck me most was引出反思的自然連接用語 how deliberate the gesture was — he’d thought carefully about the timing and the explanation, rather than it being some last-minute, generic present精準、自然的說法, and that thoughtfulness is what has stayed with me.

  • Band 6的時態失誤(「my grandfather give to me」、「he wear」)在Band 7變成正確的過去式和過去完成式(「he’d worn」),Band 8再加上同位語,讓表達更精緻(「actually his own watch, which he’d worn」)。
  • Band 6說「very expensive」和「the sentimental value is more important」;Band 7把後者精簡成「outweighs」;Band 8則把結尾的意象升級為「entrusted with a small fragment of family history」。
  • Band 6的「I am scare to damage it」(形容詞形式錯誤)在Band 7變成「out of fear of damaging it」,Band 8保留同樣的想法,但以更具反思意味的句子收尾:「how deliberate the gesture was」。

  1. Do you think people put too much emphasis on expensive gifts?
  2. How have gift-giving customs changed with online shopping?
  3. Is it better to give a practical gift or a sentimental one?
  4. Do you think handmade gifts mean more than bought ones?
