Band 6
I would like to talk about a piece of local news from my city, Kumasi, in Ghana. Last year the city opened a new footbridge over a very busy road near my school, and the whole area was very happy基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 about it. I hear時態錯誤:應為「heard」 the news first on the radio in my uncle Kofi’s shop, and after that I saw many posts about it on the internet. The mayor say時態錯誤:應為「said」 that the old bridge had been closed for years after the damage, and the builders finished the new one in six months. A lot of residents had signed a petition for it, and some schoolchildren were at the opening with their teachers. The opening was short, but a band played music and many people took photos on the new bridge. The traders who sell fruit near the road were also happy, because more people now walk past their tables. I think people were very interested because the bridge is make動詞形式錯誤:應為「made」 life easier. Before that, er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, children had to cross the road with the cars and it was very dangerous基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數, and the other way was a long walk. Now people saves主詞動詞不一致:應為「save」 about thirty minutes every day. Also, many people was主詞動詞不一致:應為「were」 waiting for this news for a long time, so it was not only a bridge for them. You know當作停頓使用的填充詞, for a week everybody was talking about it at home and in the market.
Band 7
I’d like to talk about a piece of local news from my city, Kumasi, in Ghana. Last year the city opened a new footbridge over a very busy road near my school, and the whole neighbourhood was delighted. I first heard the news on the radio in my uncle Kofi’s shop, and after that I saw a lot of posts about it online. The mayor announced that the old bridge had been closed for years after it was damaged, and the builders finished the new one in just six months. Many residents had signed a petition for it, and some schoolchildren attended the opening with their teachers. The ceremony was short, but a band played and many people took photos on the new bridge. The traders who sell fruit beside the road were pleased too, because more people now walk past their stalls. I think people were so interested because it made a real difference to daily life自然的詞語搭配. Before that, children had to cross the road between the cars, which was dangerous enough for make動詞句型錯誤:應為「enough to make」或「so dangerous that it made」 parents anxious, and the alternative was a long walk. Now people save about thirty minutes a day, which matters a lot to students and workers. There was also the feeling that a long-awaited decision had finally been taken被動語態搭配精準的過去分詞, so it meant more than a bridge to them. For a week時間用語,把結尾論點連回故事, it was the talk of the town, at home and in the market.
Band 8
I’d like to talk about a piece of local news from my city, Kumasi, in Ghana. Last year the city opened a new footbridge over a very busy road near my school, and the whole neighbourhood was delighted. I first heard the news on the radio in my uncle Kofi’s shop, and later I saw a flood of posts about it online. The mayor announced that the old bridge had been closed for years after it was damaged, and the builders completed the new one in just six months. Many residents had signed a petition for it, and some schoolchildren attended the opening with their teachers. The ceremony was brief, but a band played and crowds took photographs on the new bridge. The traders who sell fruit beside the road were pleased too, since far more people now pass their stalls. I think people were so interested because it made a tangible difference to daily life精準、自然的詞語搭配. Before that, children had to weave between the cars to cross the road, which was dangerous enough to leave many parents anxious形容詞片語搭配不定詞,結構複雜, and the alternative was a long detour. Now people save about thirty minutes a day. There was also a sense that a long-awaited decision had finally been acted on被動語態搭配精準的過去分詞, so it meant far more than a bridge to them. For a week or so自然的模糊時間用語,讓語體保持非正式, it was the talk of the town, at home and in the market.
- Band 6的時態錯誤(「I hear」、「The mayor say」)在Band 7已經改成正確(「I first heard」、「The mayor announced」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
- Band 6用的是「very happy」和「very dangerous」;Band 7說人們很「delighted」,並說這座橋「made a real difference to daily life」;Band 8再精煉成「made a tangible difference to daily life」和「a long detour」。
- Band 6用「many people was waiting for this news」來說明大家為什麼關注;Band 7和Band 8把它改成「a long-awaited decision」,讓這個理由變成一個清楚的論點,說明這座橋對居民的意義。
- Why are people often more interested in local news than in news from other countries?
- Do you think social media has made it easier or harder to know what is true?
- Should journalists report bad news even when it upsets people?
- How has the way people get their news changed over the last twenty years?
- Do you think young people pay enough attention to the news?
