流暢的比較(「unlike other chefs, she…」)

She is a household name in Arequipa.

By now, she is a bit of a local landmark.
to be in the spotlight He prefers to stay out of the spotlight.

Band 6

I would like to describe Lucia Mamani, a cook who is famous in Arequipa, the city in southern Peru where I live. She has a small traditional restaurant near my district, and every Sunday she have主詞動詞不一致:應為「has」 a short programme on the local radio, where she explains old recipes from our region. She opened the restaurant twenty years ago, after she work時態錯誤:應為「worked」 in her aunt’s kitchen as a girl. People like her for some reasons. First, her food is very tasty基本詞彙,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 and it taste主詞動詞不一致:應為「tastes」 like the dishes our grandmothers made. Second, she is not proud, you know當作停頓使用的填充詞, she comes out of the kitchen and says hello to every customer. I remember last year my family go時態錯誤:應為「went」 there for my mother’s birthday, and she remember時態錯誤:應為「remembered」 my grandmother’s name, which surprised us a lot. There is also a queue outside the restaurant at lunch, and some tourists even come from Lima to try her good soup說法含糊,換成更精準的字詞會讓句子更好. She also teaches young people from the neighbourhood to cook, er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, so they can find a job. Last month a journalist from a national newspaper wrote about her, and now more people know her name. When I eat her food, I feel connected with my family and my history. I feel proud that she is from my city, and I am respecting狀態動詞進行式錯誤:應為「respect」 her because she keeps our traditions alive. She is a very good基本形容詞,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 person and I would like to learn from her one day.

Band 7

I’d like to describe Lucia Mamani, a cook who’s a household name in Arequipa, the city in southern Peru where I live. She runs a small traditional restaurant near my district, and every Sunday she has a short slot on the local radio, where she explains old recipes from our region. She opened the restaurant twenty years ago, after working in her aunt’s kitchen as a girl. There are several reasons why people are so fond of her. First, her food tastes exactly like the dishes our grandmothers used to make自然使用「used to」表示過去的習慣. Second, she’s completely down to earth常見的詞語搭配,位置自然: she comes out of the kitchen to greet every customer. Last year my family went there for my mother’s birthday, and she remembered my grandmother’s name, which took us all by surprise慣用說法,時態正確. There’s often a queue outside at lunchtime, and some tourists even travel from Lima just to try her soup. She also trains young people from the neighbourhood, so they can find work in kitchens. Last month a journalist from a national newspaper wrote a piece about her, so her name is now spreading beyond the city. When I eat her food, I feel connected to my family and to our history. I feel proud that she comes from my city, and I respect her because she keeps our traditions alive. It give me主詞動詞不一致:應為「It gives me」 the feeling that a small business can matter to a whole community, and I’d love to learn from her one day.

Band 8

I’d like to describe Lucia Mamani, a cook who is something of a household name in Arequipa, the city in southern Peru where I live. She runs a small traditional restaurant near my district, and every Sunday she has a short slot on the local radio, where she explains old recipes from our region. She opened it twenty years ago, having learned the trade in her aunt’s kitchen as a girl. There are several reasons why people are so fond of her. For one thing, her food tastes just like the dishes our grandmothers used to make. For another, she is so unassuming that she comes out of the kitchen to greet every customer結果子句顯示能掌控複雜句型. Last year my family went there for my mother’s birthday, and she remembered my grandmother’s name, which took us all by surprise慣用說法,用法自然. There’s often a queue outside at lunchtime, and some tourists even travel from Lima for a bowl of her soup. She also trains young people from the neighbourhood, which gives them a foot in the door of local kitchens非限定關係子句搭配慣用語. Last month a journalist from a national newspaper profiled her, and her name is now travelling well beyond the city. Every time I eat her food, I feel connected to my family and to a shared history. I feel proud that she comes from my city, and I admire her because she keeps our traditions alive. What strikes me most, I think,引出深思後看法的話語標記 is that she has shown how a small business can become part of a whole community’s identity, and I’d love to learn from her one day.

  • Band 6的「she have」、「it taste」和「my family go」,在Band 7變得正確(「she has」、「tastes」、「went」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
  • Band 6依賴「very tasty」和「a very good person」;Band 7用「completely down to earth」;Band 8把同樣的意思變成「so unassuming that she comes out of the kitchen to greet every customer」。
  • Band 7以「a small business can matter to a whole community」收尾,Band 8則在前面加上「What strikes me most, I think,」使它更鮮明,再把重點擴大到整座城市的認同。

  • 只用「everyone knows him」或「he is very popular」當作解釋,而不是兩個具體的理由。

  1. What kinds of people become well known in a small community?
  2. Do you think local celebrities are as important as national ones?
  3. Why do some people enjoy being famous while others avoid attention?
  4. How has social media changed the way people become known in their town?
  5. Should well-known local people be expected to set a good example?
