IELTS Mentor AI for Reading and Listening

An IELTS Reading and Listening practice app with full tests, marked the moment you finish

Sit a full Academic Reading paper (three passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes) or a full Listening test (four parts, 40 questions), under exam timing or at your own pace. Every answer is marked when you submit, with a band, a breakdown by passage or part and by question type, and the sentence or transcript line that decides each answer.

A paid app for iOS and Android. The interface is in English; this page is one of nine languages. The Reading papers are Academic; the General Training Reading paper is not in the app. It is not affiliated with IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge.

The claims on this page follow the app's own description, last checked on 1 October 2026.

What you get

What the app does for Reading and Listening, in the app's own terms

Each feature is named as the app names it. Nothing here is a promise about your result.

Reading Tests

Full Academic papers: three passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes, with exam timing or untimed. Marked the moment you finish, with a band, a breakdown by passage and by question type, and the sentence behind every answer highlighted in the passage.

Listening Tests

Full four-part tests with 40 questions. Exam mode plays each recording once, as the real test does; Practice mode lets you pause and replay. Marked when you finish, with a band, a breakdown by part and by question type, Hear it again for every question, and the transcript with the deciding line highlighted.

A band from the raw score

Reading and Listening are marked out of 40 and reported as a band, the way a full paper is scored, not an estimate from a sample of questions.

Breakdown by question type

Every paper reports where the marks went: by passage or by part, and by question type, so the type that loses you marks is named rather than guessed at. The Skill to Fix First puts the error that appears in 80% or more of your responses at the top.

Skill Map

Every test feeds one map of your English, shared with the Speaking and Writing tests in the same app, each item as a percentage, so what to fix next is one list across the four skills.

Review Due and Quick Wins

Review Due brings back what you fixed, right before you would forget it, scheduled by the FSRS algorithm; Quick Wins pick the next short session from what the map shows.

What it is not

Four things to know before you pay

  • The tests were written for the app in the format IELTS.org publishes. They are not past papers and not official IELTS material.
  • The Reading papers are Academic only. If you sit General Training, the Reading paper is not here; Listening is the same in both versions.
  • The interface and the tests are in English, because the test is.
  • It does not book your test, and it is not affiliated with IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge.

Next to other products that offer IELTS Reading or Listening practice

Three products describe Reading or Listening practice on their own sites: Speechful, Engnovate and the British Council's IELTS Ready. Here is what each says about itself on its own site, read on 18 September 2026, next to what this app does. Where a site does not describe a feature, the cell says so; that does not mean the feature is absent.

Is IELTS Mentor AI for you?

You came here with a band to reach. Here is who the app is for, who it is not for, what happens if it does not work for you, and what it does not promise.

It is for you if

  • You are preparing for Academic IELTS and practise on your own.
  • You want your Speaking and Writing assessed against the four official criteria, with a band range rather than a single guess.
  • You want full Reading and Listening papers under exam timing, with the evidence behind every answer.
  • You can use an app whose interface is in English; this site explains it in nine languages.

It is not for you if

  • You need the General Training Reading paper. It is not in the app.
  • You want an official score. The app reports a range, and it is not affiliated with IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge.
  • You want to practise without a phone. The app runs on iOS and Android; the tools on this site are the browser part.

If it does not work for you

IELTS Mentor AI is a paid app. The plans, the packs and what each one buys are on this site, and the App Store or Google Play show the terms before you confirm; how billing and refunds work is written down in plain words, and support answers by email.

What it does not promise

A range, not a result. Speaking and Writing come back as a band range from strict to lenient, with the sentences that moved it, because no software can promise the band an examiner will give; only the test does. Whether AI scorers work sets out the evidence.

The app

Sit a full paper and see every answer explained

IELTS Mentor AI is a paid iOS and Android app for Academic IELTS practice in all four skills: an AI examiner marks Speaking and Writing on the four official criteria and reports a band range, full Reading and Listening tests are marked the moment you finish, and one Skill Map shows what to fix next.

Questions people ask before downloading

Short answers, with the page to read for more.

Are the Reading and Listening bands official?

No. The tests are the app's own, written in the format IELTS.org publishes, and the band is reported from your raw score out of 40. An official score comes only from an IELTS test. How the IELTS Reading score is calculated and how the Listening score is calculated.

Is the Listening recording played once, like the real test?

In Exam mode, yes: each recording plays once and cannot be paused, as IELTS.org describes the test. Practice mode lets you pause and replay, and every question has Hear it again afterwards.

Does it cover General Training Reading?

No. The Reading papers are Academic. Listening is the same test in both versions, as IELTS.org's test format pages describe it, so the Listening tests apply to both.

Is the app in my language?

The interface and the tests are in English, because the test is in English. This website explains the app in nine languages.

What does it cost?

It is a paid app. What it costs is on one page, in full and with the date it was last checked; nothing is unlocked before you pay. The pricing page; how billing and refunds work.

How do I move from Band 6 to 7 in Reading or Listening?

By finding the question types that lose the marks and drilling those, under the real timing. The app's breakdown by question type shows where the marks go; the guides below show what the step looks like in each skill. Reading band 6 to 7 and Listening band 6 to 7.
