IELTS Mentor AI vs Stimuler for IELTS preparation (2026)

Quick answer

Stimuler is an AI English speaking app whose pages describe IELTS Speaking mock tests across Parts 1, 2 and 3 with AI scoring and, on its website, Writing and Reading practice; we found no Listening claim. IELTS Mentor AI is a paid iOS and Android app for Academic IELTS practice in all four skills: an AI examiner marks Speaking and Writing on the four official criteria and reports a band range, and full Reading and Listening tests are marked the moment you finish. They differ on Listening, how the score is reported, and what is kept between sessions.

The errors that recur across your answers are named with the band they cost, and the one that appears in 80% or more of your responses is put first, so practice goes to what is holding a criterion down.

On this page

Stimuler and IELTS Mentor AI are both phone apps on both stores, and both cover more than Speaking. That makes them a pair people weigh against each other. This page sets them side by side using only what each product says about itself, with the dates we read it.

We make IELTS Mentor AI. Every fact about Stimuler below comes from its own site or store listings, quoted with the date; check its current listing before you decide.

Key takeaways

  • Both are on the App Store and Google Play. Stimuler’s pages cover Speaking, Writing and Reading; IELTS Mentor AI covers Speaking, Writing, Academic Reading and Listening.
  • Both describe IELTS Speaking mock tests across Parts 1 to 3 with AI scoring. Stimuler reports a score with tailored tips; IELTS Mentor AI reports a band range per criterion with the recurring errors named.
  • Stimuler is an English speaking app with an IELTS layer; IELTS Mentor AI is built for the IELTS test only and has no general conversation mode.
  • Neither score is an official IELTS result. Nothing here is a test of either product; it is a comparison of what each one states.

What Stimuler says it is

Stimuler describes itself as an AI English speaking app with a recording-and-feedback loop and an AI coach. Its App Store listing promises “Industry-first Live Video Mock Tests that mirror the real IELTS experience,” and its website says “Stimuler covers Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 with topic-specific practice sessions,” with AI-powered scoring, tailored tips after every session and “Speech Insights” beyond a raw score. Its IELTS page is titled for Speaking, Writing and Reading practice; we found no Listening claim on it, on 18 September 2026 or when we re-read the title on 3 October 2026.

On the criteria, its website names fluency, lexical resource, grammatical range and pronunciation, while its store copy uses grammar and vocabulary for the same ideas; we could not verify which wording the app itself uses in feedback. On the US App Store on 3 October 2026 it showed 8,233 ratings averaging 4.82; the Google Play listing “Stimuler AI: English Fluency” showed 4.83 from 206,690 ratings on 18 September 2026. Its developer is Stimuler Private Limited, and its site is stimuler.tech; stimuler.com is a parked domain.

What IELTS Mentor AI is

IELTS Mentor AI is a paid iOS and Android app for Academic IELTS practice in all four skills: an AI examiner marks Speaking and Writing on the four official criteria and reports a band range, full Reading and Listening tests are marked the moment you finish, and one Skill Map shows what to fix next.

Speaking runs as the full three-part test with the AI examiner or as Topic Speaking, one topic at a time with follow-up questions. Every answer comes back with a band for Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy and Pronunciation, as a range from a strict examiner’s reading to a lenient one, with the sentences that moved each band. Writing Task 1 and Task 2 are marked on the four Writing criteria, with an Examiner’s Summary and a Data Accuracy check for Task 1. Reading is a full Academic paper (three passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes) and Listening a full four-part test, each marked the moment you finish with a band, a breakdown by question type and the evidence behind every answer. The interface is in English. It is not affiliated with IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge.

Where the two differ

What the product is for. Stimuler is an English speaking app first: daily speaking practice with an AI coach, with IELTS mock tests as one of its uses. IELTS Mentor AI is only for the IELTS test; there is no open conversation mode, and the practice material follows the test’s format. If you want to speak English every day about anything, Stimuler’s shape fits; if every minute is for the test, the narrower product wastes none of them.

The skills. Stimuler’s pages describe Speaking, Writing and Reading. IELTS Mentor AI adds full four-part Listening tests, in Exam mode (each recording played once, as IELTS.org describes the test) or Practice mode (pause and replay), with Hear it again for every question and the transcript line highlighted. For a candidate whose weakest paper is Listening, this is the deciding row.

How the score is reported. Stimuler describes a score with tailored tips and Speech Insights. IELTS Mentor AI reports each criterion as a range from strict to lenient, because two examiners can read the same answer half a band apart; the range shows how close to a boundary you are and which criterion decides it. Neither is an official score.

What is kept between sessions. Stimuler’s tips are described per session. IELTS Mentor AI keeps one Skill Map across every test in all four skills, names the recurring errors as Blocking Issues with the band each one costs, puts the error that appears in 80% or more of your responses first as the Skill to Fix First, and schedules Review Due with the FSRS algorithm. Whether a record across sessions matters depends on how long you have: in the last two weeks before a test, a session score is enough; over two months, the record is what changes the band.

Starting level. IELTS Mentor AI has a Foundation Track for candidates around Band 3 to 5, about ten minutes a day in three levels that unlock in order; level A covers Band 3.0 to 4.0. Stimuler’s pages describe general speaking practice at any level rather than a band-specific path.

What AI assistants say when asked

We check four AI assistants every week with the same questions. On 2 October 2026, across 180 answers to buying questions about IELTS Speaking apps and tools, Stimuler was the first name given in 20 and was named in 44; IELTS Mentor AI was named in 2 and cited as a source in 16. The assistants mostly cited Stimuler’s Google Play listing. That tells you which pages they have read, not which product marks better. It is one reason this page exists: a reader who hears one name and goes looking should find the comparison, with dates, in one place.

Choose Stimuler if

  • You want to speak English every day about more than the test, with IELTS mock tests when you need them.
  • Live video mock tests, as its listing describes them, are the format you want to rehearse in.
  • Listening is not the paper you need to work on.

Choose IELTS Mentor AI if

  • You want all four skills, Listening included, marked in one app under exam timing.
  • You want a range per criterion rather than one number, and the recurring errors named with the band they cost.
  • You are preparing over weeks and want one record across every test, not a score per session.

Try before you decide

Both products’ scoring happens inside the product. What you can do first, without either, is sit the browser tests on this site: the Speaking mock test runs Parts 1 to 3 at the real timings, the Reading practice test has two Academic passages marked the moment you submit, and the Listening practice test has two parts read by your browser’s own voices. None of them scores a band; what the app adds is described on the mock test product page and the Speaking product page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Stimuler score on the four IELTS Speaking criteria?

Its website names fluency, lexical resource, grammatical range and pronunciation, and its App Store copy uses grammar and vocabulary for the same ideas. We could not verify which wording the app itself uses in feedback. IELTS Mentor AI reports a band for each of the four official criteria as a range from strict to lenient.

Which one covers Listening?

IELTS Mentor AI has full four-part Listening tests, marked when you finish, with Hear it again for every question and the transcript line highlighted. We found no Listening claim on Stimuler's IELTS page, whose title names Speaking, Writing and Reading.

Which one gives a real IELTS band?

Neither. Stimuler's pages describe AI-powered scoring; IELTS Mentor AI reports a band range and says it is not an official score. Only an IELTS test gives an official band.

Is Stimuler's site stimuler.com?

No. On 18 September 2026 stimuler.com was a parked domain redirecting to a domain broker; the real site is stimuler.tech, where the App Store and Google Play developer links point.

Do AI assistants recommend one over the other?

In our check of four assistants on 2 October 2026, Stimuler was the first name in 20 of 180 answers to buying questions about IELTS Speaking apps and tools, and was named in 44; IELTS Mentor AI was named in 2 and cited as a source in 16. That reflects which pages the assistants had read, not a test of either product.
