When do IELTS One Skill Retake results come out?

The published figure is short. IELTS.org states: “You will receive your results within 3-5 days.” That appears in the FAQ on its test-taker page for One Skill Retake, and the page for receiving organisations repeats 3 to 5 days.

What the pages do and do not say

IELTS.org gives the window but does not say from which point the days are counted, and it does not name a time of day. IDP’s page describes the new Test Report Form but does not give a number of days. For the exact date your results will be released, your test centre is the source. What the new Test Report Form shows

You receive a new Test Report Form rather than an amended one. According to IELTS.org, it displays:

• the test type as IELTS One Skill Retake;
• the retaken skill score, and the original scores for the other three sections;
• the retaken score clearly marked with the word “retake”;
• an updated overall band score to reflect any changes;
• the Test Report Form number of the original test, with further information in the administrator comments.

IELTS.org adds that the retake uses the same marking and scoring procedures and the same 9-band scale as the full test, and goes through the same pre-release analytics and verification processes as all IELTS results. You can choose whether to use your original or your new Test Report Form.

Who can sit the retake

The retake is for people who completed a full test at a centre that offers One Skill Retake, where the full test was an eligible IELTS on computer test, and who sit the retake within 60 days of that test. You can use it once per original test. Because organisations decide whether to accept the format, see whether universities accept One Skill Retake before you book.
