Band 6
I would like to talk about a time when I changed my opinion about a classmate called Mwila. I am시제 오류: 올바른 형태는 “was” in my second year at the university in Lusaka, in Zambia, and Mwila was in my department, so we had many lessons together. Before that, I thought he was very proud기본적인 형용사, Lexical Resource 점수를 제한함 because he never talked to anybody and he always sat alone at the back. I, er자연스러운 머뭇거림 표지, 가벼운 군말, never tried to speak to him, and I told my friends he think시제 오류: 올바른 형태는 “thought” he was better than us. Then in March our lecturer put us in a pair for a presentation, and I was not happy about it. In the first meeting he didn’t said형태 오류: 올바른 형태는 “didn’t say” much, but he brought notes that were very clear and he explain시제 오류: 올바른 형태는 “explained” the difficult parts to me. He stayed in the library until late with me to practise the slides. Then I understood that he was not proud, he was just very shy기본적인 형용사, Lexical Resource 점수를 제한함 and he did not know how to start a conversation. So I changed my mind, because I saw his behaviour and not only my first idea. I felt embarrassed because I judged him too fast, you know머뭇거림 표지로 쓰인 군말, and also happy because I found a good friend. Now we is주어와 동사의 수 불일치: 올바른 형태는 “are” close friends and we study together every week. Now I try to wait before I decide about people, because Mwila showed me that the first idea can be wrong. He is also very funny when you know him.
Band 7
I’d like to talk about a time when I changed my opinion about a classmate called Mwila. I was in my second year at the university in Lusaka, in Zambia, and Mwila was in my department, so we shared several lessons. At first I thought he was stuck-up구어적이지만 정확한, 거만한 사람을 나타내는 단어, because he never talked to anybody and always sat alone at the back. I never tried to speak to him, and I told my friends he think시제 오류: 올바른 형태는 “he thought” he was better than the rest of us. Then in March our lecturer put us in a pair for a presentation, and I wasn’t thrilled. In our first meeting he said very little, but he’d brought notes that were really clear, and he patiently explained the parts I hadn’t understood관계절에서 과거완료를 정확하게 사용. He even stayed in the library until late to practise the slides with me. That’s when I realised he wasn’t proud at all, he was simply very reserved자연스러운 자기 수정 and had no idea how to start a conversation. So I had a change of heart의견이 바뀐 것을 나타내는 관용적인 표현, because I’d seen his behaviour with my own eyes. I felt embarrassed of전치사 오류: 올바른 형태는 “embarrassed about” judging him so quickly, but also glad that I’d made a good friend. We’re close now, and we study together every week. I try to wait before deciding anything about someone these days, because Mwila showed me how wrong a first idea can be. He’s also hilarious once you know him.
Band 8
I’d like to talk about a time when I changed my opinion about a classmate called Mwila. I was in my second year at the university in Lusaka, in Zambia, and Mwila was in my department, where we shared most of our lectures. At first I took him for an arrogant person, since he never spoke to anyone and always sat alone at the back, and rather than make an effort to talk to him, I told my friends that he thought he was better than the rest of us정확한 간접화법을 쓴 대조 구조. Then in March our lecturer paired us for a presentation, which I wasn’t looking forward to. In our first meeting he said very little, but he’d prepared notes that were remarkably clear, and he patiently went over everything I hadn’t grasped. He even stayed in the library until late to rehearse the slides with me. That was when it dawned on me깨달음의 순간을 나타내는 자연스러운 담화 표지 that he wasn’t arrogant at all, merely reserved정확한 단어 선택, and simply had no idea how to start a conversation. I had to eat my words잘못을 인정하는 관용적인 표현 in front of my friends. I felt embarrassed that I’d jumped to conclusions너무 성급하게 판단했음을 나타내는 정확한 관용구, but mostly glad, because I’d gained a good friend. We study together every week now, and he has turned out to be remarkably funny once you know him. These days I try to hold back from judging people until I’ve seen how they act동명사와 종속절을 정확하게 사용.
- 6점 답변의 시제 실수(“I am in my second year”, “he think he was better than us”)는 7점 답변에서 정확한 과거형(“I was in my second year”)으로 바뀌고 8점 답변에서도 정확하게 유지됩니다.
- 6점 답변은 “very proud”와 “very shy”에 의존하고, 7점 답변은 “stuck-up”과 “had a change of heart”를 쓰며, 8점 답변은 “merely reserved”와 “jumped to conclusions”를 더합니다.
- 6점 답변은 현재를 “we study together every week”로만 설명하지만, 8점 답변은 화자가 지금 다르게 하는 일, 즉 “hold back from judging people until I’ve seen how they act”로 끝납니다.
- 마지막 줄 “how you felt about it”을 잊거나 “I felt good”이라는 말로만 답하는 것
- Why do many people find it hard to admit that they were wrong?
- How reliable do you think first impressions are?
- Is changing your opinion a sign of strength or a sign of weakness?
- Does social media make people more or less willing to change their views?
- Should schools teach students to question their own opinions?
