How much does IELTS One Skill Retake cost?

There is no worldwide price list for One Skill Retake, and looking for one is what sends candidates to forums where a number from another country gets repeated as if it were universal. The official pages handle the question differently: they describe what the fee is like, and then send you somewhere local for the figure itself.

What the figure depends on

Two things: the country you are testing in and the test centre you book with. IELTS.org states that prices vary and that you should contact your local test centre for more information, which is the closest thing to a global answer that exists.

Everything else about the amount is deliberately flat. IDP says the price is the same whether you retake Speaking, Listening, Reading or Writing, and that there is no separate registration fee or payment processing fee; its Australian site adds that there is no additional fee for a last-minute booking either. So the skill you pick, the moment you book and the paperwork around it do not move the number.

Where to find your own figure

Start with the national IELTS site for the country you will test in — several of them publish the applicable figure for that country directly on their One Skill Retake page, alongside the full-test figure. Then confirm it with the centre itself, because the published country figure can differ between centre locations and is subject to change.

That second step is the one worth doing properly. The same centre check also settles whether it offers the service at all, which is the condition your eligibility actually hangs on.

What the fee buys, and what it does not

It buys one sitting of one skill, run in the same format and marked to the same standard as it was in your full test, plus a new Test Report Form. IELTS.org describes that form as carrying your updated One Skill Retake score together with the results for the other three skills from the original test, and says you can choose whether to use your original form or the new one — so the old result is not destroyed by the new one.

It does not buy a different outcome. There is no refund tied to the band you get, and the retake is not a re-mark of the answers you already gave.

The part of the cost that is not on the invoice

The expensive version of this question is not the fee. It is booking a retake, preparing the way you prepared the first time, and arriving at the same band — at which point you have spent the fee, the 60 days and the window itself.
