ในเกณฑ์ Lexical Resource (คลังคำศัพท์) กรรมการสอบสังเกตว่าผู้เข้าสอบก้าวข้าม “expensive” และ “cheap” ไปสู่ collocation (คำที่มักใช้คู่กัน) ที่เจาะจงกว่า เช่น “a good deal”, “disposable income” หรือ “spend money on impulse” ได้หรือไม่ และสำนวนอย่าง “break the bank” หรือ “a false economy” ถูกใช้อย่างถูกต้องหรือแค่ใส่เข้าไปให้ดูเด่น ความเจาะจงว่าเป็นพฤติกรรมการใช้เงินหรือการออมแบบไหนสำคัญกว่าการหยิบคำหายากมาใช้

  • Part 1คำถามช่วงเกริ่นนำเกี่ยวกับชีวิตของคุณเอง เช่น “Do you enjoy shopping?”
Describe a gift you received that was special to you, Describe something you own that you want to replace
  • Part 3คำถามต่อเนื่องเชิงนามธรรม ซึ่งความแม่นยำสำคัญที่สุด เช่น “Do you think people spend too much money on things they don't need?”

it was cheap it was a bargainฟังเหมือนสิ่งที่คนพูดกันจริงๆ
I don't have much money I'm a bit short on cash
I bought it I splashed out on itสำนวนที่สื่อว่าการซื้อครั้งนั้นสำคัญสำหรับผู้พูด
it cost too much it was overpricedคำเดียวที่เจาะจงแทนวลียืดยาว
buy things you don't need spend money on impulseระบุพฤติกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นจริง ไม่ใช่แค่ผลลัพธ์
get money back get a refundคำเฉพาะที่ตรงตัวแทนคำบรรยายที่คลุมเครือ
think carefully before buying something weigh up whether it's worth itสำนวนที่เป็นธรรมชาติสำหรับความหมายเดียวกัน
