응시자가 “very good”, “very beautiful”, “very tired”에서 벗어나 “soak up the atmosphere”나 “off the beaten track”처럼 원어민이 실제로 함께 쓰는 콜로케이션으로 넘어가는지, 그리고 “overtourism” 같은 여행의 단점을 장점만큼 자연스럽게 이야기할 수 있는지를 눈여겨봅니다.

“a beach holiday”, “a day trip”, “a long weekend”, “a package holiday”, “a staycation”, “peak season”이 그것입니다. 이 표현들은 Part 1 질문 “What kind of holidays do you like?”에 바로 답하게 해 주고, “recharge my batteries”나 “a well-earned break”는 그 이유를 설명해 줍니다.

“off the beaten track”은 몇 점 수준에 맞나요?

Speaking 시험에서 “a very nice place”라고 말해도 안전한가요?

“I went on holiday”나 “I went on vacation”이라고 하되 “I went to holiday”라고 하지 마세요.

“I love travel”, “travel broadens the mind”처럼 씁니다. “a day trip”, “a business trip”이 그 예입니다. “a long journey by train”처럼 씁니다. “a travel”이라고 하거나, “trip”이라는 뜻으로 “a journey to the beach”라고 하는 것이 이 주제에서 가장 흔한 실수 중 하나입니다.
