Band 6

I’d like to talk about a novel that made me happy. It is about a retired postman who decide時態錯誤:應為「decides」 to write short letters to the people in his village to encourage them. I’m from Recife, and a friend lend時態錯誤:應為「lent」 me the book last year when I was, er思考下一個想法時使用的填充詞, very stressed about my exams. She said it was a nice story and that it could help me relax. In the beginning I didn’t expected動詞形式錯誤:應為「didn’t expect」 much, but after the first chapter I was interested and I can’t時態錯誤:應為「couldn’t」 stop reading. I finished it in four days, mostly in the night介系詞錯誤:應為「at night」. Every chapter is about a different neighbour, and I was very excited基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 to see how the letter changed his or her life. My favourite neighbour is an old man who reply主詞動詞不一致:應為「replies」 with a recipe, not a thank you, and that scene is very funny基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數. The ending was a surprise, because at the end the postman receive主詞動詞不一致:應為「receives」 a letter, too. I laugh時態錯誤:應為「laughed」 on the bus when I read one of the funny parts, and people looked at me. The book made me happy because it showed me that a small kind action can be very important說法含糊,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 for another person. After I finished it, I started to write short notes to my friends, you know當作停頓使用的填充詞, and they were happy to received動詞形式錯誤:應為「receive」 them. I think it is a good book基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 for everybody, and I want to read it again in the future.

Band 7

I’d like to talk about a novel that made me happy. It’s about a retired postman who decides to write short letters to the people in his village to encourage them. I’m from Recife, and a friend lent me the book last year when I was under a lot of pressure描述壓力的自然詞語搭配 because of my exams. She said it was a lovely story and that it might help me relax. At first I didn’t expect much, but after the first chapter I couldn’t put it down慣用的片語動詞,助動詞和時態都正確. I finished it in four days, mostly at night. Every chapter follows a different neighbour, and I was dying to find out口語但用法準確的慣用語,表示強烈好奇 how each letter would change his or her life. My favourite neighbour is a grumpy old man who replies with a recipe instead of a thank-you, and that scene is hilarious. I read that part twice because I wanted to enjoy it again. The ending was a surprise, because in the last pages the postman receives a letter himself. I laughed out loud on the bus at one of the funny scenes, and people stared at me. The book made me happy because it showed me that a small act of kindness can mean a great deal to someone. After I finished it, I started writing short notes to my friends, and they were happy to received動詞形式錯誤:應為「happy to receive」 them. I think it’s a book what everybody關係代名詞錯誤:應為「a book that everybody」 should read, and I’d like to read it again one day.

Band 8

I’d like to talk about a novel that made me happy. It’s about a retired postman who decides to write short letters of encouragement to the people in his village. My favourite neighbour is a grumpy old man who replies with a recipe instead of a thank-you, and that scene tickled me no end表達覺得好笑的慣用說法. I read that part twice, simply to enjoy it again. The ending was a surprise, because in the last pages the postman receives a letter himself. One funny scene had me laughing out loud on the bus, to the bewilderment of the other passengers. What made the book so uplifting was how it showed that a small act of kindness can mean a great deal to someone分裂句,清楚地把書和心情連起來. After I finished it, I started writing short notes to my friends, who were touched and a little surprised一組精準的形容詞,描述對方的反應. I think it’s a book that almost anyone would enjoy有分寸、自然的結論,沒有誇大, and I’d like to read it again one day.

  • Band 6的時態與主詞動詞不一致失誤(「a friend lend me」、「I laugh on the bus」、「the postman receive」)在Band 7已經正確(「a friend lent me」、「I laughed out loud」、「the postman receives」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
  • Band 6用「very excited」和「very important」;Band 7用「dying to find out」和「a great deal to someone」;Band 8加上「touched and a little surprised」描述朋友的反應。
  • Band 6以「good book for everybody」收尾;Band 8用一個句子說明書與心情的連結:「What made the book so uplifting was how it showed that a small act of kindness can mean a great deal to someone」。

  • 只說「it was interesting」或「it was good」,卻沒有點名一個場景、一個角色或一個時刻。

  1. Why do some people prefer printed books to reading on a screen?
  2. Do you think reading for pleasure makes people happier than other kinds of entertainment?
  3. What kinds of books are most popular with young people in your country?
  4. Should schools encourage children to read for enjoyment as well as for study?
  5. How do you think reading habits will change over the next twenty years?

這張題卡和「Describe a book you read recently」是同一張嗎?
