이 큐카드(cue card)는 사회에 대한 의견을 “would”, “should”, “would have to” 같은 조건·조동사 표현으로 제시하고 옹호할 수 있는지를 평가합니다.

직접 본 것이 있으면 “how I came up with it”에 해당하는 이야기가 생기고, 영향을 받는 집단도 분명해집니다.

I’d like to talk about a law I’d introduce in my country: a rule that everyone riding an electric scooter must wear a helmet and keep to the cycle lanes. Band 8

I’d like to talk about a law I’d introduce in my country: a rule that everyone riding an electric scooter must wear a helmet and keep to the cycle lanes. The idea came to me last spring, when a rider with no helmet swerved across the road outside my university and narrowly missed a bus. He was fine, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how easily it could have gone the other way. In my city these scooters have become hugely popular in just a couple of years, mostly among students and delivery riders, and the rules haven’t really caught up. The law would apply to riders of every age and to the companies that provide the scooters, who would have to give out helmets and explain the rules when someone first uses one. The government should also run a short campaign before the law starts, so that people hear about it first. It would benefit the whole country, not only the riders이익을 분명하게 밝히는 대조 구조, because fewer accidents mean less pressure on hospitals and fewer drivers who have to live with a near miss. Frankly, it’s a small change that would protect a lot of people자연스럽고 자신감 있는 마무리 문장.

  • 6점 답변의 동사 실수(“everybody who ride”, “The idea come”, “I can not stop”)는 7점 답변에서 바로잡히지만 실수가 하나 남아 있고, 8점 답변에는 실수가 없습니다.
  • 6점 답변은 “are very popular”와 “good for the country”라고 말하고, 7점 답변은 “narrowly missed a bus”와 “caught up”을 쓰며, 8점 답변은 “fewer drivers who have to live with a near miss”를 더합니다.

  • “will”과 “is”만 쓰고 “would”, “should”, “would have to”는 쓰지 않아 문법의 폭이 드러나지 않는 것

  1. Why do some people ignore rules even when they know the reason for them?
  2. Should governments protect people from risks they choose to take themselves?
  3. How can a government explain a new rule so that people accept it?
  4. Do you think laws should change often to keep up with new technology?
  5. Who should decide which laws a country needs, experts or ordinary citizens?

“it would apply to”, “it should”, “riders would have to”처럼 조건과 조동사를 쓰는 구조입니다.
