「what people were doing」には注意しましょう。
「I disliked it because I was worried about losing my sister, and the noise gave me a headache」と言える受験者のほうが、「it was not good」と言う受験者よりも、ずっと説得力があります。

Band 7
I’d like to talk about a really crowded place I went to last December, Balogun Market in Lagos. I went on a Saturday morning with my younger sister Chidinma, who needed an outfit for a family wedding. By the time we arrived, the lanes were so packed that we could only shuffle along人混みの中の動きを表す、自然で的確な動詞句 with everyone else. Sellers were calling out to customers, shoppers were bargaining loudly, and every few minutes a motorbike squeeze時制の誤り:正しくは「squeezed」 past between the stalls. We stopped twice to catch our breath in a doorway, and a man carrying a huge bundle of cloth on his head shouted at everybody to make way. I kept hold of my sister’s hand because I was afraid we’d get separated. Most people were there to buy or sell something3つめの項目に答える、明確で正確な文, though some were simply wandering around and taking it all in. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy it much. It was far too noisy, the air was stifling, and I had a headache within an hour. Still, my sister was delighted対比を示す表現が、話の一貫性を保っている because she found exactly the dress she wanted, and that made the trip worthwhile. Afterwards we had a cold drink in a small cafe outside the market, and the quiet there felt wonderful. I think I disliked it mainly because I prefer quiet places, although I can understand why so many people is attracted主語と動詞の不一致:正しくは「are attracted」 to a market that’s so full of energy.
Band 8
I’d like to talk about a market I visited last December, Balogun Market in Lagos, which is easily the most crowded place I’ve ever been to. I went on a Saturday morning with my younger sister Chidinma, who needed an outfit for a family wedding. By the time we arrived, the lanes were so packed that all we could do was let the crowd carry us along人混みの中の動きを表す、慣用的で鮮やかな表現. Sellers were calling out to passers-by, shoppers were haggling at the top of their voices, and every few minutes a motorbike squeezed through the gaps between the stalls. We had to stop twice to catch our breath in a doorway, and a man balancing a huge bundle of cloth on his head barked at everybody to make way. I kept hold of my sister’s hand for fear of getting separated. Although most people were simply there to buy or sell, others were wandering about and soaking it all in譲歩を表す構文を、正確かつ自然に使っている. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy it. The noise was relentless, the air was stifling, and within an hour I had a pounding headache. That saidバランスのとれた見方を導く、話の流れを示す表現, my sister was delighted to find exactly the dress she’d been looking for, which made the trip worthwhile. Afterwards we had a cold drink at a small cafe outside the market, and the sudden quiet felt like a luxury. I think I disliked it because I crave quiet的確で自然な動詞選び, but I can see why so many people are drawn to a place that is so full of energy.
- バンド6の時制のミス(「a very crowded place I go to last December」と「we can not walk fast」)は、バンド7では直っており(「a really crowded place I went to last December」)、バンド8でもミスはありません。
- バンド6は「some nice clothes」と「good price」に頼っています。バンド7は「shuffle along」を使い、バンド8は「let the crowd carry us along」と「I crave quiet」を加えています。
- バンド6は、単純な「it is full of life」で締めくくります。バンド7は「a market that’s so full of energy」で結び、バンド8は、バランスのとれた「That said」のあとに「drawn to a place that is so full of energy」で同じ考えにたどり着きます。
- Why do so many people enjoy being in a crowd, for example at a festival or a match?
- Is noise in big cities a serious problem for the people who live there?
