這張題卡(cue card)很容易回答得很淺,例如「I like it because it’s comfortable」。

| a good fit | 很適合你身形的衣服 | It’s just a really good fit, unlike most jackets I try on. |
| hard-wearing | 耐用,經得起經常穿著 | It’s surprisingly hard-wearing for something I bought cheaply. |

I’d like to talk about a dark green jacket that I bought about two years ago, not long before I started a new job that involved a lot more walking around the city than my previous one had. I picked it up almost by accident, actually, in a small shop I only went into because it had started raining, and I remember trying it on mainly to kill time rather than seriously intending to buy anything. It ended up fitting really well, though, and it was hard-wearing enough that the shop assistant mentioned it was designed for outdoor use, which appealed to me since most of my other jackets fall apart within a year. I wear it constantly now, probably four or five days a week for most of the year, since it works equally well over a shirt for work or with a plain jumper at the weekend, which makes it genuinely versatile compared to almost everything else in my wardrobe. The main reason I like wearing it, if I’m honest, isn’t really about how it looks, although I do think the colour suits me reasonably well; it’s more that it’s proven itself completely reliable through two years of daily use, including some fairly rough weather, without looking noticeably worn out. There’s also a small practical detail I appreciate, which is that it has an inside pocket large enough for my phone and wallet, so I don’t need to carry a bag for short trips. It’s become such a wardrobe staple that I’ve actually started dreading the day it eventually wears out.
- Do you think clothing choices say something about a person's personality?
- Has the way people dress for work changed in recent years?
- Do you think fashion trends change too quickly nowadays?
- Should schools require students to wear a uniform?
