問題本身很明顯,所以考官聽的是你如何描述當時的情況、等待時有沒有用過去進行式(Past Continuous),例如「we were sitting, the cars were barely moving」,以及最後的「how you felt」那一項有沒有超越「I was angry」。

We left right in the middle of the evening rush hour.
to come to a standstill At one point the traffic came to a standstill.
The bridge was a bottleneck, as always.
After an hour, everyone in the car started losing patience.
to kill time 在等待時找事情做 We killed time by playing word games.

  • where, who: home from the mountains, family, my brother Bobur, parents
  • when, how long: Sunday evening, last winter, almost three hours
  • waiting: songs, snacks, games, stopped cars, people standing outside
  • feeling: annoyed first, then laughing; still remember it as a funny trip

Band 6

I want to talk about a time when I stuck詞形錯誤:應為「was stuck」 in a very long traffic jam last winter. My family and I were driving home from the mountains on a Sunday evening. My parents were in the front, and my younger brother Bobur and I were in the back. At first the road was fine, but after one hour we see時態錯誤:應為「saw」 red lights everywhere, and the cars was主詞動詞不一致:應為「were」 not moving. There was only one road, so there was no other way. We waited for almost three hours. At first my father was very angry基本詞彙,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 and kept looking at his watch, but after some time he stopped and turned on some music. We ate the snacks my mother had prepared and played word games, and Bobur kept making jokes about the drivers in front of us. Some people from other cars get時態錯誤:應為「got」 out and stood on the road to talk. When we finally arrived home it was almost midnight, and I was tired. I felt annoyed in the beginning, but at the end I was laugh詞形錯誤:應為「was laughing」 with my brother, so I think it became a funny memory for us.

Band 7

I’d like to talk about a time I got stuck in a very long traffic jam last winter. My family and I were driving home from the mountains on a Sunday evening, with my parents in the front and my younger brother Bobur and me in the back. At first the road was clear, but after an hour we saw a line of red lights, and the cars were barely moving描述車流緩慢的自然說法. There was only one road, so there was no way round it, and we waited almost three hours. At first my father was clearly losing patience精準的詞語搭配 and kept checking his watch, but eventually he gave up and put some music on. We shared the snacks my mother had packed and played word games, and Bobur kept joking about the drivers in front of us, while a few people from other cars got out and stood chatting on the road分詞片語自然地補充細節. We got home close to midnight, exhausted. To be honest, I was annoyed at the start話語標記引出坦率的反思, but by the end I was laugh詞形錯誤:應為「was laughing」 with my brother, so it ended up being a funny memory.

Band 8

I’d like to talk about a time I got stuck in a very long traffic jam last winter. My family and I were driving home from the mountains on a Sunday evening, with my parents in the front and my younger brother Bobur and me in the back. At first the road was clear, but after an hour we saw a line of red lights, and the cars were barely moving. There was only one road, so there was no way round it, and we waited almost three hours. At first my father was clearly losing patience and kept checking his watch, but eventually he gave up and put some music on. We shared the snacks my mother had packed and played word games, and Bobur kept joking about the drivers in front of us, while a few people from other cars got out to chat on the road. We got home close to midnight, exhausted, yet what I remember most is that what began as an irritating delay turned into one of our most relaxed family evenings前置的名詞子句帶出反思性的對比. To be honest自然的話語標記, I was annoyed at the start, but by the end my brother and I were in tears of laughter, and the story still comes up whenever we pass that road.

  • Band 6的形式與時態錯誤(「I stuck」、「we see」、「the cars was」)在Band 7中已改正,Band 7仍有一處自己的錯誤(「was laugh」),Band 8則完全沒有。
  • Band 6說「very angry」;Band 7用「clearly losing patience」;Band 8保留這一點,並加入更多樣的句型,例如「what began as an irritating delay turned into」。

  • 從過去式滑進現在式,例如同一個故事裡先說「we waited」,後來又說「we are waiting」。
  • 講的是考試或班機遲到的故事,卻忘了「what you did while you waited」這個要點。

  1. What causes traffic jams in big cities?
  2. Do you think public transport is a good solution to heavy traffic?
  3. Should cities limit the number of private cars in the centre?
  4. How does heavy traffic affect people's health and daily lives?
  5. Do you think roads will be less crowded in the future?
