it turned out that 後來才發現 It turned out that she restores old ceramics.

  • who: Gulnora, restores old ceramics, quiet, about fifty
  • where and when: train from Bukhara to Tashkent, summer 2022
  • what we talked about: her work, matching glazes, my studies, young people and crafts
  • why more: no phone number, how she started, would she teach a beginner

Band 6

I want to talk about a woman called Gulnora, who I met only one time on an afternoon train from Bukhara to Tashkent in the summer of 2022. She sit時態錯誤:應為「sat」 next to me and after ten minutes we started talking, because I see時態錯誤:應為「saw」 she was wrapping a small clay bowl in newspaper very carefully. She told me she repair時態錯誤:應為「repairs」或「restored」 old ceramics for living, mostly pieces that families keep for many generations, and she said it takes many weeks to find the right colour. We talked for nearly two hours about her work, my studies and how a few數量詞不精確:用「few」或「hardly any」更合適 young people want to learn a craft that is so slow. Er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, the problem is my phone has no battery時態錯誤:應為「had run out of battery」, and at the platform there were many people, so I never got her number. I would like to know more about her because she was a very interesting基本形容詞,限制了Lexical Resource的分數 woman and she talked about patience with a strong believe詞形錯誤:應為「with strong belief」. I want to ask how she started and if she can teach a beginner like me. I think this is a good reason, because I never met somebody like her before and I do not know when I will see her again.

Band 7

I’d like to talk about a woman called Gulnora, whom I met only once, on an afternoon train from Bukhara to Tashkent in the summer of 2022. She took the seat next to mine, and within ten minutes we had struck up a conversation開始交談的自然說法, because I noticed the careful way she was wrapping a small clay bowl in newspaper. It turned out that she restores old ceramics for a living自然使用引導性的「It turned out that」子句, mostly pieces that families have kept for generations, and she described how she matches a glaze by eye, which can take weeks. We talked for nearly two hours about her work, about my studies and about how few young person單複數不一致:應為「few young people」 want to learn such a slow craft. Unfortunately, my phone had run out of battery, and on the platform we were swept away by the crowd生動、精準的說法, so I never got her number. The reason I’d like to know more about her is that清楚的連接用語,引出說明 she spoke about patience with real conviction, and I’d love to ask how she started and whether she’d teach a beginner like me. It’s rare for a stranger to leave such an impression in just two hours.

Band 8

I’d like to talk about a woman called Gulnora, whom I met only once, on an afternoon train from Bukhara to Tashkent in the summer of 2022. She took the seat next to mine, and within ten minutes we were talking, because I’d noticed the careful way she was wrapping a small clay bowl in newspaper. It turned out she restores old ceramics for a living, mostly pieces that families have kept for generations, and she described how she matches a glaze by eye, which can take weeks. We talked for nearly two hours, about her work, about my studies and about how few young people want to learn a craft that slow. Sadly, my phone had run out of battery, and on the platform we were swept away by the crowd, so I never got her number. What I’d still like to understand is how she first came to it聽起來自然而有反思意味的分裂句, and whether she’d ever consider teaching a beginner. She spoke about patience with such conviction that it has stayed with me ever since道地、精準的收尾說法.

  • Band 6的時態失誤(「She sit」、「I see」、「she repair」)在Band 7已經改正,Band 8也沒有再出現,而開頭的關係代名詞改成了「whom」。
  • Band 6把這位女士描述為「very interesting」;Band 7用「had struck up a conversation」和「spoke about patience with real conviction」來呈現;Band 8再加上她憑眼睛配出釉色的細節。
  • Band 6把想多了解的理由說成兩個平淡的願望;Band 7用「The reason I’d like to know more about her is that」帶出;Band 8以一個留在說話者心裡的想法收尾。

  • 忘了「why you would like to know more」的部分,故事在見面那天就結束了。

  1. Why do people often talk more openly to strangers on a journey than to people they know?
  2. Is it easier to make friends now than it was in the past?
  3. Should schools teach traditional crafts that few young people choose to learn?
  4. What can people learn from someone who works in a very different field?
  5. Do you think social media has made first meetings less important?

你可以用名字、暱稱,或像「a woman on the train」這樣的描述。
