Band 6
I want to talk about a small coastal town I visit時態錯誤:應為「visited」 about two years ago, a few hours’ drive from my home, which I go with時態錯誤:應為「which I went with」 two friends from university for a long weekend. It is quite off the beaten track compared to the more famous beach towns near it, and this is, er自然的停頓,填充詞不顯眼, actually part of why I like it so much. When we are there, we spend most morning just walking on the coastal path, which was very beautiful, especially early before it get時態錯誤:應為「got」 busy, and in the afternoon we mostly explore the old town on foot, stopping at small local places to eat, not the ones for tourists. One afternoon we find this tiny restaurant almost by accident, and we sit outside for a very long time just, you know當作停頓使用的填充詞, enjoying the atmosphere, and we talk to the owner, who give us時態錯誤:應為「gave」 recommendations for the rest of the trip that was better than the internet. What make me recommend it so much is exactly this — it is not overrun like many famous coastal towns, so it still feels like a real hidden place, not somewhere only for tourists. I send the name to some friends after, and every one who go say時態錯誤:應為「everyone who went said」 it was a very good trip重複使用基本說法,限制了Lexical Resource的分數.
Band 7
I’ll talk about a small coastal town I visited about two years ago, a few hours’ drive from where I live, which I went to with two university friends over a long weekend. It’s fairly off the beaten track compared to the more well-known beach town小失誤:應為複數「towns」 nearby, which is actually part of why I ended up liking it so much. While we were there, we spent most mornings walking along the coastal path, which was genuinely picturesque精準、自然的詞彙選擇, especially early before it got busy, and in the afternoons we mostly explored the old town on foot — or, sorry, mainly on foot句子中途自然地自我修正 — stopping at small local places to eat rather than anywhere obviously aimed at tourists. One afternoon in particular stands out自然地用現在式表達長久留存的記憶 — we found this tiny family-run restaurant almost by accident, sat outside for what felt like hours just soaking up the atmosphere自然、道地的詞語搭配, and ended up talking to the owner, who gave us recommendations for the rest of the trip that turned out better than anything we’d read online. What makes me recommend it so strongly is exactly that: it hasn’t been overrun the way a lot of more famous coastal towns have複雜的比較關係子句結構, so it still feels like a genuine, hidden gem rather than somewhere built around tourism.
Band 8
I’ll talk about a small coastal town I visited roughly two years ago, a few hours’ drive from where I live, which I went to with two university friends over a long weekend. It’s fairly off the beaten track compared to the more well-known beach towns nearby, which is actually part of why I ended up liking it so much. While we were there, we spent most mornings walking along the coastal path — genuinely breathtaking, especially early on before it grew crowded —插入的附帶子句,增加流暢度 and in the afternoons we mostly wandered the old town on foot, stopping at small, unassuming local places rather than anywhere obviously geared towards tourists. One afternoon in particular has stuck with me自然的連接用語,使敘述有條理: we stumbled upon道地、自然的改寫 a tiny family-run restaurant almost by chance, sat outside for what felt like hours simply soaking up the atmosphere, and ended up chatting to the owner, whose recommendations for the rest of the trip proved far more useful自然使用「whose」的關係子句 than anything we’d dug up online beforehand. What makes me recommend it so strongly is precisely that: it hasn’t been overrun the way so many well-known coastal towns have, so it still feels like a genuine hidden gem rather than somewhere built entirely around tourism精準、道地的詞語搭配.
- Band 6沒有一直維持過去式(「I visit」、「which I go with」、「who give us」),Band 7和Band 8則用得準確;Band 8還用「One afternoon in particular has stuck with me」引出故事,讓敘述更連貫。
- Band 6重複使用「very beautiful」和「very good trip」;Band 7換成「picturesque」和「soaking up the atmosphere」;Band 8更進一步,用了「genuinely breathtaking」和「stumbled upon」。
- Band 6用「er」和「you know」填補停頓;Band 7出現一次自我修正(「or, sorry, mainly on foot」);Band 8完全沒有停頓,只有自然的連接用語。
- 忘了回答「why you would recommend it」,讓題卡的最後一項指示完全沒有交代。
- What kind of places do people in your country usually recommend to tourists?
- Do you prefer researching a place online before visiting, or discovering it as you go?
- How has social media changed the way people choose places to visit?
- Do you think heavily recommended places sometimes become too crowded to enjoy?
如果我不記得「when you visited it」的確切日期怎麼辦?
像「a couple of summers ago」或「when I was still in school」這樣大致的時間範圍很自然,也足夠了,考官不是在測驗你記不記得日期。
