이 큐카드(cue card)의 핵심 표현은 “made you think”입니다.

A film that genuinely made me think was one I first watched, oddly enough, on a long flight last winter, and then rewatched a few months later with my brother because I wanted his opinion on it. It centres on a family that has to make an extremely difficult decision involving one of the parents, and without giving too much away, there’s no version of the decision that doesn’t cost the family something. What struck me wasn’t really the plot mechanics but the moral dilemma at the centre of it — the film deliberately avoids telling you which choice is right, and I remember sitting there afterwards, still turning it over in my head as the plane landed.
Watching it again with my brother turned out to be even more interesting, because we ended up disagreeing quite strongly about what we’d have done in the family’s position, and that disagreement sparked a proper debate that went on well past the film itself. What made me think, specifically, was realising how confident I usually am about my own moral judgements, and how quickly that confidence disappeared once I actually tried to imagine living through that situation myself. It’s stayed with me in a way most films don’t — I still bring it up sometimes when a friend is wrestling with a genuinely difficult decision, because it reminds me that there isn’t always a clean answer.
- 줄거리를 다시 들려주는 데 거의 모든 시간을 쓰고 “why it made you think” 부분에는 시간을 남기지 않는 것
- “made you think”를 “made you feel emotional”과 혼동해서 슬픔이나 흥분만 묘사하는 것
- Do you think films can change how people see the world?
- Are cinemas still popular in your country, or do people prefer watching at home?
- What kinds of films tend to make people think more, in your opinion?
- Should films that deal with difficult topics carry age restrictions?
- Do you think people discuss films as much as they used to?
